Duo Niro formed at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2016. The group consists of Rose Soenen and Nicole Lancaster. Rose Soenen is an award-winning performer who loves to experiment with every different style that the harp is capable of. She enjoys performing Celtic, classical, pop, and jazz. As well as performing with Duo Niro, she keeps a busy private teaching studio, works as the principal harpist for the Stratford Symphony and the Ancaster Symphonia and performs solo at a variety of private and public events. Nicole Lancaster just completed her Bachelor of Music in Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018. As an award-winning harpist Nicole has played for the Wilfrid Laurier Symphony Orchestra and made an appearance with the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. When she is not playing the harp, Nicole loves teaching music, travelling, hiking, camping, and anything outdoors. The duo is working to chance the perception of traditional classical harp music through exploring a variety of genres and techniques ranging from traditional classical music to contemporary pop covers.
