Harp lessons for Autumn 2021 are just getting organized! Still thinking of beginning lessons? It is never too late, lesson availability is open for scheduling, for lesson inquiries please contact Mary.
Mary's primary teaching days are Mondays and Tuesdays this year
If you are considering trying harp, but not sure about committing - contact Mary to arrange a trial lesson to wrap your fingers around some strings and see if you can manage to not fall in love with harp!
No instrument is required for trial lessons, or when beginning. You can have an opportunity to try all of Mary's harps, and rental harps are easily acquired in this area.
Mary has been playing harp for more than her 15 years, and offers insights into practicing techniques to make sure learning harp can fit within busy schedules. Mary's undergraduate degree was completed at Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Music, where she studied harp with Lori Gemmell, and Sharlene Wallace. With experience learning by ear, reading music, studying Celtic harp, and Classical harp along with arranging popular music, improvisation and composition, Mary offers a solid foundation of harp technique to allow you to play in the style you like best. Pedal harp lessons are also available.
COVID-Safe Lesson Adaptations
Lessons will be offered by zoom and in-person this year. There is plenty of space in the studio for distancing, and masks will be worn at all times during the lesson. All students born 2009 or earlier will be required to provide proof of 2 doses of vaccination in order to attend in-person lessons. Online lessons are still available for those who are not yet fully vaccinated or have concerns about possible risk of exposure from resuming in-person. Zoom lessons are also available for in-person students who have had a negative screening or have been told to self-isolate.
